• Cara recently finished opening three shows for Joan Armatrading in Alberta. The shows were a great success. Album news: The Light Fantastic is being released in Europe this month with Rounder Records. New website is in the finishing stages, many thanks to Jeff at Fourserious and Paul at Yellowpencil.

  • Having just returned from a whirlwind of UK performances with the Keelaghan troupe, getting ready for the Winnipeg concert at the WECC on May 17, Cara is busy coordinating t-shirt design and promotion. The UK trip was very successful in the important ways, good BBC airplay and people coming from afar to see her; not so successful in the getting sleep and eating regular meals department. Much needed breaks were given by friends who opened their homes for the occasional overnight rest and morning walk through the hills. Thanks to all "safe house" people!
Good reviews have been flowing in for "The Light Fantastic," and roots / college radio does appear to be paying attention. As far afield as Belgium, people are tuning in. Thank you from all of us at caraluft.com!

  • The Light Fantastic is now available across Canada at fine record stores everywhere! Reviews are pouring in -- check the Press section... Cara begins touring April 21 in the UK, opening for James Keelaghan. Release shows begin in Winnipeg on May 17 and carry on out West, with some special in-store performances at McNally Robinson in both Winnipeg (May 16) and Saskatoon (May 24).

  • "The Light Fantastic" will be released to retail in Canada on March 27 through Black Hen Music. The Western pre-release tour was awesome, thanks so much to all of you who filled those houses! Cara and Hugh are now blasting around Southern Ontario, with a Canadian Music Week showcase in Toronto (and a full show right afterward!). Then Cara jets off to Austin Texas, for SXSW, followed by a series of opening slots for James Keelaghan in Apr/May in the UK. The first album release show is going to be a hometown show in Winnipeg, at the WestEnd Cultural Centre, May 17. The "Angry Dads" have agreed to open, which will be loads of fun!

  • December 2006 - South By Southwest has invited Cara to showcase in March '07 and the Canadian television series Renagade Press has placed "Talk For Awhile," a song from "The Light Fantastic" in an upcoming episode!
